Arkanoid is an arcade game online originally released by Taito in 1986. It has quickly became one of of the most popular games of all times. The objective of Arkanoid is to hit all bricks on the screen by bouncing a ball off the paddle. You control the a space vessel called Vaus. It acts as the paddle, which prevents the ball from falling from the playing field. The ball the bounces against a number of bricks. Striking a brick with the ball causes the brick to disappear. When all the bricks are gone, you advance to the next level, where another pattern of bricks appears. There are many variations of bricks and power-up capsules to enhance the Vaus, but the gameplay remains the same. Press space bar to start. Q to quit the game. Move the paddle left and right using your arrow keys. Eliminate all the bricks!

The game introduced a female protagonist, new maze designs, and several other gameplay changes over the original game. The player gathers points by eating dots and avoiding ghosts (contact with one loses a life). Energizers, or power-pellets, change the ghosts, which reverse their course and they can be eaten for extra points. Fruit bonuses can be consumed for increasing point values, twice per level. As the levels increase, the speed increases, and energizers generally change the ghost for less time.
